A twelve-floor expansion of the Rockefeller Cancer Institute added 300,000 square feet of research, clinical, and administrative space to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences campus. ENFRA provided LEED Enhanced Commissioning of the project, which was initially completed as a shelled space with a phased build-out of individual floors.

All research labs within the expanded facilities meet BSL-2 criteria. These specialized spaces had complex requirements for pressure, humidity, and temperature. Detailed commissioning of controls was critical for ensuring the proper function of mechanical equipment to maintain requirements for each laboratory. These efforts also ensured energy efficiency and enabled research floors nine and eleven to achieve LEED Gold certification.
