Tucson Orthopaedic Institute partnered with Tucson Medical Center to develop a transformative four-story tower addition, advancing orthopedic care in Southern Arizona. ENFRA provided full engineering design services for the $134 million project, which added 200,000 square feet to the Tucson Medical Center campus. Designed with both patients and providers in mind, the facility merges cutting-edge medical technology with thoughtful, patient-centric design to create a best-in-class destination for orthopedic surgery and recovery.
The new tower houses Tucson Orthopaedic Institute’s flagship clinic, complete with a pain management injection suite and research center. The surgical platform is among the most advanced in the region, with 24 high-tech operating rooms, including two hybrid suites and a dedicated pediatric surgery area. A full floor is dedicated to orthopedic surgery, supported by education and training spaces, including a modern conference center. The upper floor features 40 private patient rooms designed for healing, each offering expansive views to enhance the recovery experience.
Convenient access, upgraded infrastructure, and a concierge-style approach to care make this facility a standout addition to the campus. With this expansion, Tucson Medical Center and ENFRA have delivered a forward-thinking healthcare environment that raises the bar for orthopedic care, education, and innovation across the region.
