The Louisiana State University Medical Center is a medical care and research facility that covers 16 blocks of the city, and totals over 1.5 million square feet. Robinson Center Historic Renovation and Addition provided mechanical and plumbing construction services for this $1.1 billion project.
The University Medical Center campus houses a number of buildings. The Diagnostic and Treatment Building is six stories and covers 750,000 square feet. The Ambulatory Care Building contains six floors with a 258,000-square-foot area. Between this building and the diagnostic and treatment building, a total of 86 miles of pipe and 1.9 million pounds of sheet metal were installed.
