ENFRA and Hampton University’s 20-year EaaS partnership delivers $213 million in savings, upgrades campus infrastructure, and enhances efficiency. Key improvements reduce energy and water use by 46% and cut emissions by 37%.

ENFRA and Hampton University established a 20-year Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) partnership in December 2021. Through this agreement, ENFRA will deliver $213 million in cost savings to the University while addressing $41 million in deferred maintenance needs. Additionally, ENFRA assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the University’s essential utility infrastructure, ensuring long-term budget stability and reliability.

Infrastructure improvements are scheduled for completion within 30 months and include the construction of a new chilled water and heating water plant, a fully integrated building automation system with digital controls, interior and exterior lighting upgrades, retro-commissioning of mechanical systems, and the deployment of the ENFRA Connect platform for data analytics and automatic fault detection.

These upgrades will significantly enhance Hampton University’s energy infrastructure, reducing energy and water consumption by 46% and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 37%.
