Critical Operational Updates
TROPICAL STORM BERYL UPDATE - MONDAY, JULY 8, 2024 @ 4 P.M. CST
We continue to communicate with our Operations teams as Hurricane Beryl made landfall earlier today and continues to progress on a north/northeast track as a Tropical Storm.
ARKANSAS EMPLOYEES:
Beryl is forecast to move across the state overnight and throughout tomorrow, bringing tropical conditions to every county. These include the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
As a precaution, all employees responsible for job site operations and business continuity for locations in the storm’s projected path are asked to take time now to survey and prepare project sites for potential hazardous impacts from Beryl. Please refer to the Hurricane Preparedness Plan to use as a guide when securing job sites.
Our Little Rock and Fayetteville offices will remain open and follow normal operations. However, please use your discretion and work remotely if conditions surrounding your home are potentially unsafe.
For our employees working at job sites in areas throughout Arkansas, please continue to communicate with your supervisor regarding the status of your job site. Please report to your job site unless otherwise instructed by your supervisor.
Any changes in our operating schedule will be communicated via email, text, and updates on Bernhard’s Internal Message Board: Bernhard | Emergency Message. Contact your supervisor if you have any concerns or questions regarding schedules as Beryl moves across Arkansas.
Take precautions now and stay safe!
TEXAS EMPLOYEES:
We know our employees in Houston and surrounding areas in Eastern Texas have felt Beryl’s impact intensely today. As always, your safety and the well-being of your family are our top priority. If you are in an area impacted by Beryl, please follow your local advisories and adhere to warnings from local authorities as damage assessments begin.
Our Houston office will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9th. We will assess later tomorrow and make a decision about when to reopen. Please work remotely if conditions surrounding your home allow you to work safely.
Please reach out to Jessica Milligan at jmilligan@bernhard.com regarding Bernhard’s Employee’s 1st Fund, which provides financial assistance to employees facing hardships from disaster situations, specifically eligible employees who have experienced damage to personal property (primary residence or vehicle) due to a natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstance.
As far as the CEO Roadshow events scheduled for tomorrow, the Dallas roadshow will continue as planned tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9th, 9-11 a.m. CST. Due to Hurricane Beryl's impacts, the Houston roadshow is being rescheduled to a later date in July. Details are forthcoming and will be shared once logistics are confirmed.
Thank you for everyone’s diligence and safety-first decisions!
