The long-term agreement will enhance energy performance and sustainability across Baptist Health locations in Kentucky and Indiana.
Baptist Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Kentucky, has entered a 30-year Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) partnership with ENFRA, a national leader in energy infrastructure. The partnership will deliver comprehensive energy system modernization, material cost savings, and measurable sustainability improvements for eight Baptist Health hospitals spanning Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Under the agreement, ENFRA will operate, maintain, and optimize Baptist Health’s existing chilled water and steam systems and deploy new efficiency and resiliency upgrades. The partnership is expected to generate substantial savings over the term while reducing carbon emissions, aligning with Baptist Health’s energy stewardship goals.
“Baptist Health’s leadership team recognized an opportunity to unlock intrinsic equity related to its existing energy infrastructure,” said ENFRA Executive Vice President Frank Ferramosca. “Through our Energy-as-a-Service model, we are empowering Baptist Health to modernize its facilities, reduce carbon emissions, realize material P&L benefits and most importantly, redirect capital resources to advance the system’s mission.”
This partnership supports our focus on high-quality care and advancing services to meet the needs of our patients and communities. It also helps enable more energy-efficient operations to support our ongoing work.
